Members of this unit portray the 11th Kompanie, 4th Panzer Grenadier Regiment "Der Führer", 2nd Panzer Division "Das Reich" ,circa 1944. The 9th through 12th companies constituted the 3rd Battalion of "Der Fuhrer," which was the only panzergrenaider battalion in "Das Reich" equipped with halftracks. Our unit is fully motorized- we have 2 functional trucks with another in restoration, we have a 3 BMW Motorcycle/sidecar combinations, and a converted 251D model halftrack (look around at some other Texas German unit websites- many of the heavy vehicles in thier photos are ours!). Our main goal is a pursuit of pure "campaign style" reenacting- to that end, we even have a field kitchen for cooking with. Sleeping conditions as well as daily life could be harsh for the common soldier, as it sometimes can be for us. We endeavor to rough it just as the common soldiers of WW2, and have learned how the common soldier made his own life easier in the process. If you want the total WW2 experience, that is what we are after as well- even if it only last a few days a month!

We also strive to keep our Kompanie as accurate as possible, and authenticity standards in our unit are high, right down to camp authenticity. All of the machine guns our unit uses are functional class III weapons, that is they are not propane powered replicas- there truly is no experience like that of a full auto MG42 barking away at the "enemy", with supporting fire from K98's and MP40's. We are always looking for new members, and membership is open to anyone who can meet certain minimum requirements. We have in the unit equipment depot enough gear and uniforms to fully equip 8 men, and you are invited to try reenacting out without any out of pocket cost- thats right, we can outfit you completely for your first event, and loan you gear and a weapon while you aquire your own!  In addition to the TMHS and unit dues and battle fees, unit members must be at least 16 years of age and in generally good health.  Those between the ages of 16 and 18 must also have written parental permission.  Our activities require a certain degree of physical fitness (for example, we do some running), and you must be able to safely climb on and off military vehicles, and walk a mile or two in warm weather while wearing a full uniform and equipment.
We appreciate your patronage of our web site- hopefully you will come away with a little understanding of what we do. Members of our unit also have alternate impressions, such as WW2 GI, Vietnam War, Civil War, and even some Roman Empire. Look through the site and enjoy!
