OTHER EASTERN FRONT UNITS
11TH KOMPANIE 2ND SS PANZER DIVISION
Ah yes, our worthy adversaries, the Germans. 11th Kompanie has also put in a lot of work at our main site in Zavalla, they have an extensive series of trenches, an underground bunker, and a barn/campsite that is quite impressive (although not so much so as to dampen our resolve in ridding our fair Motherland of their pestilence!). You are only allowed to click on this link for spying purposes, and NOT to be recruited by the Hun pigs!
UNIFORM AND EQUIPMENT VENDORS
We know that trying to find some of this stuff might be hard if you are just starting out in reenacting, so we’ve compiled a helpful list of links to point you in the right direction. We suggest you always shop around as much as you can, because searching for the best deals for many reenactors is part of the fun. Here are a few sites that are really good to hunt around on.
COLLECT RUSSIA
Very cheap deals on uniforms if you can fit into small/medium sizes. Very cheap Shipping and Handling fees ($8 flat rate for anything ordered, no matter weight), accepts PayPal or credit card, based in America.
FRONT OF RUSSIA
Very cheap uniform package deals. Get your whole uniform plus gear for one low price! Everything else is really cheap as well, if you just dig around on his site for long enough. Alex the owner is very nice and will answer any questions you have. He’s based in the Ukraine, so shipping might be pricy. Accepts Western Union money transfer.
TRIDENT MILITARY
Not the cheapest deals on the block, but probably the best quality. If you don’t mind spending a little extra on their package deals, it will be a good investment. Be sure to look all over, their site is pretty massive. This place might be good if you need just one or two items.
OST FRONT
This is a great source for all your Russian Front needs. They are the best for those hard to find items to fill out your kit, such as toiletries, personal items, field gear, etc. Prices are very reasonable. Uniforms and head gear are a little more expensive. They accept major credit cards and are very speedy in service.
MILITARY GUN SUPPLY
Probably your best bet for buying Russian weaponry, and since they have a storefront in Fort Worth, you could actually visit and hand pick your rifle. Besides having several war time rifles, they also stock semi-auto variants of the Russian PPS-43 Sub Machine Gun, and DP-28 Light Machine Gun. They also have dirt cheap ammo.
SPORTSMANS GUIDE
One of the best places to get random Military Surplus. They don’t always have Russian stuff, but check back from time to time because they add odds and ends often. Plus its just a fun place to browse for old surplus deals.
CHEAPER THAN DIRT
Based here in Texas, a good place to get Stripper Clips for your Rifle ammo, and Russian Ammo (if you want to go shooting the real deal sometime). Also a good place to check back from time to time as they carry various items that could be great with your kit.
ATLANTIC WALL BLANKS
Here’s where you should get all your blank ammo, unless you can find a cheaper/better place. They carry ammo for Soviet SMGs as well as rifles and Machine Guns.
EBAY
We strongly suggest that if you are not familiar with Ebay, you get aquainted with it for reenacting. This is a great place to find good deals on items if you are patient and hunt hard enough. Sometimes some great things turn up. Use “soviet” and “russian” when searching for specific items. Hundreds of new Soviet items are posted every week, so keep going back to find that perfect deal.
THE RUSSIAN GRUNT (therussiangrunt@hotmail.com)
This Texas-based soviet uniform source is run by a guy named Dan Welch. He doesn’t have a website, but you can email him for a current catalogue. I bought a lot of my gear from him, and he really is a super guy. He is renowned for being the main supplier for Soviet groups in Texas. He has a lot of random hard-to-find items like Russian card games and ID Booklets, if you are looking to fill out your haversack with some fun items.
